Feria Juniana 2022

The Feria Juniana 2022 is something that many prospective Honduras visitors plan their trips around. The promise to enjoy such things as colorful parades, explosive fireworks shows, and carnival rides is a big reason why this annual celebration draws so many people in. Of course, plenty of typical Honduran food can be sampled on the side, and as you might imagine, plenty of revelers do their fair share of drinking.

The Feria Juniana, or the June Fair, as it is known in English, is one of the biggest and best Honduras events. Held in the city of San Pedro Sula, it is quite similar to the renowned La Ceiba Carnival in that it revolves largely around the city’s patron saint and features such things as small neighborhood carnivals and lively parades. Any and all are encouraged to partake in the various festivities, and there are numerous options for things to do on the side when a break from partying is in order. Among other things, San Pedro Sula is a good place to arrange tours of the Mayan site of Copan.

As its name would imply, the Feria Juniana takes place during the month of June. It is essentially a month-long celebration, and capping everything off is the main parade down Avenida Circunvalacion. Along this avenue, it should be mentioned, numerous restaurants can be found, and the street in general is a nightlife hot spot. Hotels are located in the area, and you can bet that they fill up fast once the June Fair rolls around.

Honduras is Central America's quieter offering — Maya ruins at Copán, world-class diving on Roatán, cloud-forest hikes in La Tigra, and a Caribbean coast still off most travelers' radar.
